Endoluminal resections are a fast-growing area in Gastroenterology because it offers some patients the possibility of removing a polyp or cancer while avoiding a more invasive surgical procedure.
Dr. Murad’s other main areas of interest include management of complications related to Severe Acute Pancreatitis and the management of walled off Pancreatic Necrosis. He also focuses on management of large Endoluminal Lesions (polyps) which require Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) or endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). Dr. Murad also sees a number of patients with surgically altered anatomy (Whipple surgery, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass for obesity) who benefit greatly from his technical expertise. Beyond complex Endoscopy, Dr. Murad also focuses on treating patients for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), Colorectal Cancer Screening (colonoscopy), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), and gut health (nutrition and placement of feeding tubes).
Dr. Murad attended medical school at Trinity College Dublin, and attended the University of Minnesota for Internal Medicine and his GI Fellowship. Upon completion, he was accepted to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for his Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Fellowship, working with some of the premier interventional endoscopists in the country.
Dr. Murad accepts multiple insurance plans, and is currently accepting new patients.
